About the Midwest Teratology Association

The Midwest Teratology Association (MTA) is an organization of scientists from academic institutions, government, and industry who are interested in the prevention and understanding of birth defects.

MTA was founded in 1976 as a non-profit scientific organization. The Association has elected officers, an elected Steering Committee, and several standing and ad hoc committees. Standing committees include Education/Training, Membership, Symposia Awards, Historical Control, and Constitution and Bylaws. MTA publishes a bi-annual Newsletter and conducts Spring and Fall meetings at a variety of settings throughout the midwest.
